So here we are ... it is college orientation time ... things have surely changed ... orientation now happens way before the first day of school ... roommates are chosen by preference and initial acquantainces are done via Facebook ... no random assignments and first day surprises as it used to be.
Here she is as she enters the dorm room assigned for orientation!
She did not let me take too many pictures ... in fact in this one she was asking me to hurry up!
I must admit I already shed a few tears.
Can't wait to see her tomorrow ... I had the chance of staying at a dorm room for $15 USD with the other parents ... needless to say I passed ... I already had the college experience ... no need to refresh my memories.
On another note I am very happy to report that the half marathon training continues and therefore the workout streak does too ... AND ... the photo challenge is still going strong ... OK only three days for now ... but it still counts!
Day #1 - The Morning ... well ... this is my morning ... my Dante sleeps besides me ... and he is a part of my morning ... and so are all the stuffed animals he manages to steal (there may be a sock or two) ... he does in the end destroy them if you let them ... he plays rough ... he doesn't mean too ... mostly he plays with them shaking his head and when done and tired he uses them as pillows, something which I just find adorable!
Day #2 ... empty ... my tea cup ...
Day #3 - In my plate ... well in my plate and that of my daughter's ...
Nana: Fish Tacos
We ended up eating really late ... we were starving and so we stopped at downtown Wilmington for lunch ... we stopped at Mixto, I believe it was called ... just alright, not even hunger was able to improve my impression and overall opinion of the food and the restaurant.
Review: Probably will not eat there often.
I am still going strong in my various streaks ...
I have been doing the Runners World Mile a Day Challenge ... check!
I have been doing the exercise spree ... check! (going on day #5!)
I have been doing the #photoaday challenge ... check!
I even managed to get my run in at 11:00 PM ... since it was late I opted for the gym as I still do not know my way here in this college town!
I set out to do 1 mile, in order to fulfill my minimum requirement for the runner's challenge ... but oddly ... my body was feeling good EVEN on the treadmill ... so I opted for 3, which is what my training had specified for the day.
Tomorrow I need to run only one mile and do strength and stretching ... I will try to do a little more as the weather here is unbelievable!
I am so happy I completed my run - not only did I run a mile, but three ...
I am nervous about the Half ... lately my legs have been feeling heavy ... at this time I feel I just would not be able to complete it ... I do not know where my endurance is.
I should go rest now, as I stayed up until 3AM figuring out the iCloud move! (still not done by the way!)
A presto e a dopo.
