... calorie counting ...

My friend C. invited me to follow her on MyFitnessPal ... we are trying to hold each other accountable for our food choices and our exercise routine.  I tried to talk her out of the journal ... just due to the amount of work involved ... I tried to sway her into just sending each other pics of what we ate during the day.  She declined.  I actually am happy she did ... 


I will explain ...

I am trying to be diligent in writing my exercise and food entries in the app ... and thankfully I did ... I have been stunned by the data recorded from my meals.  


I really think I am doing good and then I am surprised, no, shocked at some of the values I see.

Case in point, Firebirds dinner on Saturday.

I ordered:

1 - 12 oz. Prime Rib (amazing!)

2 - A baked potato (sour cream and butter and cheese)  
    
I knew it was not as healthy of having it plain, but it is just that good and impossible to eat plain.

3 - Half a salad ... 


I was actually mad I had shared the other half with the Mr., kidding ... OK, kidding just a little.  It was so good I really wanted to take my other half back!  :)

I always have water so no calories to add. 


Did you know that the Prime Rib has almost 1000 calories and half of them are from fat!!!  Truthfully I almost fell over and was happy about the run I had had earlier that day!


I have no words ... almost 1000 calories.

I am finding out that I believe I am eating well in terms of calories ... only to be dumbfounded by the calories included in the things I eat.  I also realized that you arrive to your calorie intake much quicker than you think.  :(  


Ohhhhh ... so that is why I am not loosing weight ... :)
