... My day started pretty low key ... pretty low energy ... mostly in my mind, as unfortunately I am one of those people who is hard on herself, so I spent my morning ... well, really not doing much of anything and getting mad that I wasn't ... so after I wasted half of my day away ... I decided to watch ... Hungry for Change ... much of what was said we have been told many times ... becoming a vegan, a vegetarian, a pescatarian, etc. have all been lifestyles that I would love to embrace ... but there is a part of me that is unable to let some things go. I will explain:
I make food for my family with so much love, most of the dishes I prepare are dishes from my childhood or new dishes from my husband's childhood that I have made ours ... as to be expected these dishes contain everything ... meat, chicken, and everything in between. Even though leading a vegan, vegetarian, or pescatarian lifestyle would be more in line with the Yoga I adore and would be kinder to our world and to my body ... I am just unable to do it.
I could not imagine my life without cappelletti in brodo, prosciutto, lasagna, ceviche, cheese, and all the other wonderful foods that we should restrict due to health or lifestyle.
I am a firm believer in moderation, everything in moderation ... and although I would love to juice and maybe eat raw or become a vegan or maybe a vegetarian ... I just can't seem to let go ... and take the step towards a this type of diet ... though I admire those who can. I often read the blogs of those who are and those who are able to really eat healthy most of the time ...
So I will try to improve my diet and like the Hungry for Change film said ... add more of the foods that improve our health, be more aware of our food labels ... and do what I can ... however at this time I am still not ready to make the total move.

Afternoon Run
After a quick shower I headed out the door for an afternoon run ... I had to take a shower prior to my run for I wanted to restart my energy in some way and a shower really is able to do that for me ... I ran for 5 miles at a 10:13 pace ... as I say often, not good in the blogging/running world, but not bad for me and even better on a day when running is not on your mind ... but I did it ... completed it and enjoyed it ... OK, most of the time ... :)
Tomorrow I am going for a long run ... ah, where is my motivation???

Dinner
Tonight's dinner was one of those dinners that do not allow me to become a vegan or vegetarian ... etc., etc.
Tonight's Menu - Homemade Pasta and Ragu'
Tonight's dish is one of the dishes I want my children to make in their homes in the future ... pasta made from scratch and ragu' the way Nonna intended it to be ... 3 hours on the stove (minimum) ... pure perfection ...
So many memories, from our childhoods, from our life as a family ...
... my youngest daughter is on her school trip this week ... she called while we were at dinner ... I told her the menu and she asked if I could save her some ... and I would, but I do not like leftover pasta ... :) These are the moments I would miss, if I were to let go of meats and fish ... I hope I am making sense.

Warning: Bad iPhone picture alert ... when will I ever learn??? With two teenagers in the house you'd think that good iPhone pic taking would be an easy thing by now.

Much of the film, Hungry for Change stated things that I already knew ... all wonderful information ... however not much of anything new. One thing that I actually took from the film is this notation below ... according to the film, and a doctor in the film, she said you should put the note below, in your bathroom mirror, then read it for 30 seconds, your mind will be cluttered with negativity, initially, ... but before you know it ... your mind and body will actually believe it.
We will see! ... a dopo ... J
